Brennan’s appearance was on the schedule Wednesday but announced Thursday. His previous appearance was canceled by Republican Devin Nunes (R-CA) in late March.
At the time, Schiff said of Nunes’ cancellation, “Chairman just cancelled open Intelligence Committee hearing with (former Director of National Intelligence James) Clapper, (former CIA Director John) Brennan and (former deputy Attorney General Sally) Yates in attempt to choke off public info.”
Brennan was in charge when it became apparent to the intelligence community that Russia had interfered in the U.S. election and was helping Donald Trump.
In late August of 2016, Brennan gave “urgent, individual” briefings for eight top members of Congress to inform them of Russian efforts to help elect Donald Trump. From that same New York Times article dated April 6, 2017, “officials said Mr. Brennan also indicated that unnamed advisers to Mr. Trump might be working with the Russians to interfere in the election.”
That’s working with the Russians.
Tune in next Tuesday.
