IHG is warning customers who stayed at its properties during that time frame to keep a close eye on their credit card statements and to report any suspicious charges as soon as possible.
During the breach, IHG properties were in the process of rolling out enhanced security measures that eventually rendered the malware harmless.
In the Houston area, IHG owns more than a dozen Crowne Plaza-, Candlewood Suites-, Holiday Inn- and Holiday Inn Express-branded hotels. The company also owns and operates hotels under the Even, Hotel Indigo, Hualuxe, InterContinental, Kimpton Hotels and Resorts and Staybridge Suites brands.
